I know a couple locations in the Dayton area advertise WH Fantasy open gaming (referring to Bookery and KK). The few times I have been there on those days (admittedly just shopping, not looking for a game), the tables appear to be full of 40K players.

Are there ever fantasy players looking for games at these locations?

I am looking to get a fairly regularly playing in...because I find the more I play the more motivated I am to paint. My current WH group meets about 1-2 times a month, and that just isn't getting it done for me. :)

Thanks!

My kids have a BB game at 1:30, so I should be at KK by 2:30-3:00 and will be looking for a game. There are players that play WH regularly at KK. I'll introduce you to some of the players when we meet. I'll be the one with the large O&G army. Ask for Mike.

Awesome, I do not think I will be there this weekend (wife has the weekend off for first time in a long time), but I will come by next weekend. Might try to bring my brother as well (he plays High Elves and WoC). I look forward to meeting some more WHFB players.

I'm usually get there on Saturdays between 1300 and 1500 and usually stay till closing time if the gaming is good.
I'm usually wearing my red Georgia ballcap, so that's a way you can distinguish me.

It often does look like the majority of gaming is 40K, but if you filter things out, the Fantasy players start to appear to you.

Also, a lot of the Fantasy players at KK also play 40K, and usually break out the swords and sorcery after they get their fill of pew pews and tanks for the day.

I am not sure if I'll be at the store this Saturday. Depends on if my girls BB game gets cancelled or not.

Is anyone planning to brave the weather and drive to KK?

Tsrudm, if you show up to the KK on any random Saturday you can expect to find one or two opponents before 3:00; if you wait til 7:00 or later there will definitely be 4-7 players there wanting to play Fantasy. If you ever want to get a game in on Sunday let me know, I am always available to play. Also, I can play a game at any time each Wednesday of the week; I generally try to get in at least one Wednesday night game each week, usually starting between 4:30 and 6. PM me for my number or just give a shout on the forum here if you ever want to get a game in.

Here are the common Fantasy players at the Keep:

Jason: Big guy, long hair. Plays Space Wolves.

Andrew: Big guy, long white hair. Plays Orks.

Donny: Average build, late 20's. Only plays Fantasy AFAIK

Kenny: Not always there, only plays Fantasy AFAIK

Ben: Thin, short, ugly, virginal, laughs like a girl. Plays stupid armies. Avoid him.

Jon: Me.

Nice...

Kenny plays 40K as well. He started imperial guard a few months ago.

And you forgot me....
I am there roughly 50% of the time. I play O&G most of the time. 6'2", handsom, and have an ego that can barely fit into the backroom.

I am not sure what my girls BB game schedule is this coming Saturday, but I will probably arrive this saturday between 2:00 and 3:00PM. I try to get into 1-2 games on Saturdays, but I am also open for games on other days. I have a gaming table in my basement, and I live close to Fairfield mall (and in between both KK and the Bookery... yes that was by design :D )

Shakedown, thanks for the rundown of the players, good to know!! I would love to get some games in. Right now I am trying to be disciplined and really focus on painting my force...but I will try and make it down to KK one coming weekend.

I also live right by Fairfield, and frequently visit both KK and Bookery.

Let me know if you are up for a game some time, or even painting tips. I live off Grange Hall.

No problem man, look forward to gaming with you. BTW, I'm sure you picked up on it but Ben is actually a great guy and great player. He's a tough opponent, but his army lists are almost always above par IMO and he can teach you a lot about the game. Great opponent if you're not into winning too much :)

Are there that many players after 7:00PM? I usually leave by 5:00 or 6:00 because it started thinning out.

Oh, I always assumed you left because the wife started tugging your leash after 6 or so...

By the time 4 or 5 rolls around, Jason and Andrew have usually had their fill of 40k, and I think that's about when Ben shows up. Donny gets off work around 7 and comes straight over, and every other Saturday (this Saturday being one of them) I head over once I get off work, usually getting there just before 7.

There are some other occasional players too; one, who's name escapes me, was recently given my old HE army as a gift from his gf. The other player is Bryan, who is probably in his mid to late 30s, and has a beautifully painted WoC army.

I'll have to see if I can rearrange my schedule around. Showing up around 5:00 would be a lot easier for me because by then I would be finished all the kids stuff, plus got a few things checked off on my honey-do list. :)

So who is coming this Saturday night? Better yet, who is up for a game Friday night? My oldest daughter is having a B-day sleep over Friday night and she invited something like 6 other 10-year old girls. I need to escape...
