I've always thought of myself as a Ric Flair.... while Mr. Cash is more of a Mae Young...... and not the early mae young....

Just an update as we had some guys sign up this week from VA, NY, and Toledo. Putting us up to 40 signed up.

There are 50-60 spots, which are 1st come 1st serve based on the ultimate form of commitment....payment! :D

42 signed up, and those numbers are firming up fast. We might have to start checking on the additional space in the side theatre and get working on 5 more tables! roughly 60 days to go. We are way ahead of last years pace.

Thanks everyone for spreading the word. How is it there are more coming from upstate NY than from Indy?!!

Who is coming from upstate NY? I have a pretty good guess, but I am curious to know who is coming from my old stomping grounds.

Good news/bad news. Today we are now up to 53 "committed". We are going to work on more tables and terrain to try to accommodate 60 players now. But I need help to plan ahead.

Our policy has always been that you are officially registered and a place is held for you when you have paid and turned in your list. If you have paid you have til the end of June to get your list in or back out and get a refund.

We have to do it this way to be able to plan ahead and to be fair to those willing to put the commitment of paying for the event ahead of those who want to wait and see. Mike Marko will tell you this can be frustrating, as last year at a Maruader he was planning on over 60 people coming based on verbal commitments. He got terrain ready, packets, prize support, rented tables and chairs etc, and I believe around 20 people either backed out with little notice or no-showed. This is very costly in time and money for these events on shoe-string budgets. Especially if we are going to build extra terrain/tables.

This being overbooked is new territory for me. So Im trying to be as fair as possible to all and still protect the budget.

Jeff do you post a list of who has signed up? I can never remember if I did or didn't, I mean with yours, Mike's, ours I get them all mixed up. It's my oldtimers kicking in. Worse case scenario I'll sign up this weekend at the Rumble if I hadn't already.

I did it the 1st year, not the 2nd. There are pros and cons to both. I will probably get one going eventually.

70 committed with 32 paid. I will probably hold at 70 until I can sort out if we can even hold more than that. Meaning anyone not on the list that signs up and pays will bump someone off the unpaid list onto a waiting list.

Good news for the Marauder Club, the Carter family signed up so there 5 from Dayton. :!: yay!

Update

Went shopping today.
So far we have 9 plaques
Overall Sword
Best Generals Warhammer (unless Gary wins overall, he can get his hammer!)
A Citadel Realm of Battle Table Top
2 Battalions
Knights of the Blood Keep
Chaos Knights
Citadel Table Top Terrain Kit
Battle Bag
4 bags of tokens (charge, wounds, etc)
DE blister
Plague Monk regiment
Dice
Rubber Mallet (comes with donated models too)
4 Fantasy T shirts

A fun day to go shopping indeed!

We also now have 64 paid leaving the next 6 players to pay are in. The rest are on a waiting list.

We have received 47 lists ( well more, but not counting those that changed theirs). Reminder June 30 is the last day to get 5 bonus points.

Rules page was updated on www.buckeyebattles.com . nothing really changed, just made some clarifications on issues I was getting asked about.

Thanks to all those that have paid and submitted lists early. Its going to make this smoother going into the last few weeks. I cant express how much I appreciate it.

We are still working on the cook out. It should be a GO. There is a park a couple blocks away that has 24 picnic tables. We just need to find charcoal grills so you guys can eat at the same time. At this time we plan on providing 80 hot dogs and 40 burgers. I might just get all the food and ask for donations to make it simpler.

A big thanks to GW, HobbytownUSA(hamilton rd), and The Guardtower for prize support.
