I got another 1.5 hours in... and to tell you the truth I am still working on the horse. The first model always takes the longest because I have to experiment with colors.

2 more hours in. Still working on the main color of the miniature (red). Got the horse done, got some progress done on the rider.
I also got the first 24 marauders primed, and a base coat of black on the bases. The same with first five marauder horsemen horses.

Ok, almost got my first knight done. Just have to do the shield. I hope to have the model done, with pictures, by the end of the weekend.

OK, after two nearly solid weeks of painting I haven't made the progress I would have liked. I do have all the knights at least base coated, and one unit of marauders also base coated. Half the knights are 70% done. But that is it.
I didn't realize how hard it was to rank up the knights unit I was close to finishing my first unit of knights and tried putting a shield on. I had to cut open the bases I created and start repositioning the knights. I wasn't very happy about having to do it. In the end thing will work out, but the knight models are a b*tch to rank up without some creative basing.
I drive back from Canada tonight. Hopefully I'll have some time soon to post some pics.

Sorry, again no pics. Been crazy busy. Had to deal with my heat stop working, a bad water heater and flooding underneight the concrete slab foundation.
Did get some painting in last night. Working more on the knights. After having to rebase most of the knights to make sure they would rank up, I finished redoing a black base coat on the bases.
I selected two miniatures to work on until they are done. Since the knights are base coated I like to focus on one or two miniatures until they are done, and then move on. I am doing two this time around because I find it gives the paint a better chance to dry since I'll be using the juice technique on this army (the same technique I did on the troll, but not quite as diligent).

Finally I got a picture of my knights to show my progress. I still have a of work to do on two of the three knights (the one with the shield is almost done). Since the picture I have already painted the light reflections onto the rock, and started work painting the highlights on the black horses. By the way, I forgot to mention that I cut my thumb when I was cutting the horses from the bases when I couldn't rank them up. I was holding the base with one hand and cutting with an exacto blade with the other. A couple people came by to watch and I said out loud, "watch me cut my finger off". Not 2 seconds later the blade cut through the plastic quicker than I thought and I cut my thumb. Here is a pic a few days after the accident. It hurt for days after the accident.

The knights look awesome they really do. I am about to hyper-critical with the intention of being constructive. I know your a GD level painter and I would like to see you win!
The highlighting of the armor and the light sourcing seems to conflict. On the one the knight the light is coming up from the lava on the rocks (looks great btw). But some of the highlights on the armor reflect the upper edge of the armor. Not sure what to do about it but I would be floored if the lava was used as the light source!

Don't worry about being "hyper-critical". I appreciate it when people give me "tough love" and point out where I can improve the model. I was thinking about addressing that myself a couple months ago when I started the models but I "forgot". I appreciate the reminder and will see what I can do about it. There are really two light sources: the "sky" and the lava bubbles. This will be an interesting challenge trying to use OSL for the bubbles. It should cast a yellow'ish glow on some of the armor. Lets see what I can do. Thanks.

Made some more progress on the knights on Saturday. I almost have the black finished on the two knights I am working on. I hope to post pictures soon.. probably after I get the black finished.
This project is going to take a lot longer than I thought. I really want to do a great job on this army. It probably won't be done until the end of the year. Sucks, but I am enjoying painting them too much to rush. I haven't assembled the entire army yet.

I have been making some more progress on #2 & #3 knights. The black is done (with the exception of maybe some OSL). Next I will work on the weapon & the musician's instrument. I figure I would make both magical to help keep the look of the miniatures consistent.
I am now trying to paint on average 30-60 minutes night during the week. We'll see how that goes, but so far this week I am making progress.
I hope to add some pictures this weekend. I may take my painting supplies to KK in order to escape the b-day sleep over for my oldest daughter.

As promised, here is an updated image of the two knights WIP. I finished the black, and presently I am working on the weapons. They look a bit cartoony right now... it is tough to get the green glow of the items without making them look OTT.
