Some may have already seen my hoppers in person, but here is a picture I took today of the progress I made. The picture isn't the best (my wife has my good SLR camera) but the pics show what I am trying to capture with the lighting from the torch bearer.

I can't believe I haven't worked on these guys since I posted this. Hopefully soon I'll find some time to make some significant progess soon. I plan on having these done for the 2009 Golden Demons.

Been making some progress on these models. The first picture is a progress picture from early February. The single model picture was something I spent a few hours on with blending the squig hopper body. Still have to blend the main body (completed the legs & backside).

Got three squig bodies blended... two more to go. Then I have the teeth & claws, plus zits, to complete and then the squigs are done. I'll post pictures once I get the bodies blended so everyone can see the progress. It is taking me two to three hours per body to blend using the "juice" technique.

Are you going to have these guys around during the Marauder? If so, I look forward to seeing them in person.

If people are interested, I'll bring them on either Saturday or Sunday.

Ok, although I haven't finished the bodies on all five hoppers I found some time to gets some pics ready of the first three. Keep in mind that I still have teeth & zits on the hoppers themselves to go (and the goblins are not done). That being said here they are:

Thanks.

I have now completed the "pink" squig bodies and have moved on to the claws & teeth. I love painting claws & teeth, so I'll take my time to get this right. It probably be a couple weeks before I post some updated pictures because of the Marauders Mayhem, though if I get some time in the evening I'll see what I can do.

I brought the squig hoppers to Marauder Mayhem last weekend. I took yesterday off and finished the teeth & claws of two of the models, and almost finished the third. Once I have the teeth & claws done I'll post the updated pictures.

Yes, I am using source lighting. Everything is based around the squig hopper with the torch.

Those look great... Always drool at source lighting ever since I saw it on a SOB Model letting loose a heavy flamer.

Thanks. Just finished all the claws and teeth yesterday, so I hope to post updated pictures sometime this weekend. I have a few minor details to do on the hoppers before I move onto the riders.

Ok, here are the pics with the teeth & nails done. Note that on the first picture the light was a bit strong, and it cast a shadow on the one claw. The shadow on the real miniature isn't that strong.

I still have some work to do on the squigs before I work on the goblins... including the eyes & zits. Stay tuned...
